Initial Setup

1. Determine Dosage:
   • Use 200 mg of Safe per 200 liters (50 US gallons) of water to remove chlorine and chloramine.
   • Use 200 mg per 50 liters (13 US gallons) for ammonia detoxification.
2. Application:
   • For best results, dissolve the measured amount of Safe in a small amount of water before adding it to the aquarium.
   • Alternatively, you can add Safe directly to the aquarium, but ensure it is evenly distributed.

Maintenance

1. Regular Water Changes:
   • Use Safe during regular water changes to remove chlorine, chloramine, and detoxify ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.
   • Follow the same dosage instructions as for the initial setup.
2. Emergency Situations:
   • In cases of high nitrite or nitrate levels, up to 4 times the normal dose can be used safely.
   • If the water temperature is above 30°C (86°F) and chlorine or ammonia levels are low, use a half dose.

1. How often should I use Seachem Safe?
Use Safe during every water change and whenever adding or replacing water to ensure the removal of chlorine, chloramine, and detoxification of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate.

2. Can I use Seachem Safe in a planted tank?
Yes, Safe is non-acidic and will not affect pH levels, making it safe for use in planted tanks.

3. Is Seachem Safe the same as Seachem Prime?
No, while both products remove chlorine and chloramine and detoxify ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate, Safe is a dry conditioner and more concentrated, making it more economical for large volumes of water.

4. Can I pre-mix Seachem Safe with water for later use?
It is not recommended to pre-mix Safe with water for storage, as it is most effective when freshly mixed.

You may return most new, unopened items within 7 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).

If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.

We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
